Wednesday we decided to focus on our arms. This time I brought my new Gym Boss interval timer. It was AWESOME!! I started it and didn't have to look at my watch once. It would beep when the minute interval was up. I didn't set it up to include transition time so I'll need to do that for our next workout.
Our workout consisted of some band work for our biceps and triceps. The circuit also included push ups, assisted pull ups on the machine, planks, mountain climbers, and Bob's In and Out Dumbbell Snatch Challenge. Bob's Challenge was a cardio workout. Take a dumbbell and lift it straight up to form a straight line with your body. Hold the weight for a second and then drop down into a squat swinging the dumbbell to your legs and back up. I'm not describing it well, but it was killer. We did 30 reps on each side during each circuit (90 reps total for each side). He has it posted on his website if you want to check it out.
During the 3rd round of the circuit we were running out of time. We got a little sidetracked laughing so we cut out the last set of pull ups and mountain climbers, but had a couple minutes for some ab work. The workout was really great. My arms felt like jello and I knew we worked hard.
Thursday is my rest day. Friday is our ab/core workout combined with a 2 mile treadmill run. I'm already dreading it. Anyone have some words of encouragement to get me through that torturous run????
